Ready for a Kid Craft?
The best part about the craft is you have art when you are done.
My kids have a little fort A.K.A a crawl space under the stairs. It has high enough ceilings for the little ones to walk around and yet it is small enough to keep the grown ups out (except when we play hide and seek... shhh) The walls are white and dull and that just doesn't seem fair since it is a place where the kids get to be kids. They color, play and pretend in there so I thought I would make some really simple art for the walls. My kids were napping while I did this and well they don't "color" as much as they just scribble so I did the coloring but you can totally have your little ones color their own art for this project. Ready?? Let's go!
You will need:
- A coloring book
- Blank canvas (or a canvas you want to recover)
- Crayons (markers may bleed so I would use crayons for this)
- Mod Podge
- Small sponge paint brush
Step 1: Color and cut out a picture from your coloring book. I chose to go with a little ballerina for the little miss in my life.
Step 2: Using other pages from the same book arrange pictures so that they cover the canvas. Use as many or as few as you like.
Step 3: Apply a layer of mod podge down and lay the first layer of pictures down if pictures over lap make sure to apply mod podge in between the layers.
Step 4: Then stick down your colored picture and add a layer of mod podge over the whole picture. Allow to dry and your done instant kid friendly art.
Hang them in your kids special area or in their room. You can use this method to showcase your little artists abilities or like I did color the pages yourself just to add a little excitement to the otherwise boring walls. As a side note for the top dog around here I made one with only two single pages side by side as the background, like I say you can add as many or as few as you want.
